Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026This Privacy Policy explains how JD Align Pty Ltd (ABN 87 695 417 648), operating Skill Align, collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information in connection with the Skill Align platform. By using Skill Align, you acknowledge that your information may be handled in accordance with this policy.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, Skill Align may collect account details, parent profile information, student-login information, authentication identifiers, subscription and billing records, access selections and entitlements, teacher-access requests, support requests, practice activity, test session history, answers, feedback, and technical usage information such as device, browser, logs, diagnostics, and anonymous public-page analytics.
For a one-off Exam Pack order, Skill Align may collect the purchaser name, billing email and country, selected state, course, edition and pack, order or invoice number, price and bundle saving, payment and fulfilment status, receipt and delivery records, and related support communications. Payment-card details are handled by the payment provider rather than stored in full by Skill Align's application systems.
For a School Pack order, Skill Align also collects the required school name, any optional campus and school address, confirmation that the purchaser is authorised to act for the school, the accepted School Pack licence version, and the acceptance time. These details are used to record the named-school licence, identify the school in payment and receipt records, personalise the supplied PDFs, fulfil the order, and support licence administration.
Exam Pack feedback is anonymous by default and does not automatically include account details or contact information. If you ask for an email reply, Skill Align stores the email address you provide, your reply consent, the feedback, and the resulting reply history for that purpose. Feedback form fields are masked from browser session-replay capture, and you should not include personal, student, or payment information in the feedback message.
An invitation-only customer research survey is not anonymous. Its private invitation and response are linked to the purchaser, order, and selected exam so Skill Align can interpret demand and quality evidence accurately and prevent duplicate responses. The survey may store coded answers, optional free-text comments, references to competing products, invitation and submission times, and the related purchase details already held for fulfilment. Survey fields are masked from browser session-replay capture, and respondents must not include student names or payment-card details.
The public support form is available without an account or purchase. When you use it, Skill Align stores the contact name and reply email you provide, your selected topic, subject, message, optional originating-page or order context, request status, and reply history so the team can investigate and respond. Support form fields are masked from browser session-replay capture. Do not include passwords, full payment-card details, or student information that is not reasonably needed for the request.
How information is collected and held
Information may be collected directly from you when you create an account, enter checkout details, purchase a product, request access, use Online Practice, or contact support. Skill Align may also receive transaction, identity, delivery, and service-status information from payment, authentication, email, hosting, analytics, and infrastructure providers.
Information may be held in Skill Align application records, cloud services, payment and fulfilment records, support systems, email records, logs, backups, and business records, with access limited according to operational need.
Information about children
For Online Practice, parent accounts may create and manage student logins. We rely on parents or guardians to provide and manage student information and confirm that they are authorised to do so.
Student use may create practice records, answers, attempts, saved progress, and review information under the parent-managed student login. Student information is used only to provide learning, practice, support, reporting, review, security, and related account functions.
Buying an Exam Pack does not create a student login and does not require the purchaser to provide a student's name. If a purchaser voluntarily provides student information in an order-support request, it will be handled under this policy and should be limited to what is reasonably needed to resolve the request.
How we use information
Skill Align uses personal information only as reasonably necessary to operate and improve the platform. This includes providing and securing the service, managing subscriptions, processing payments, fulfilling and resending Exam Pack orders, issuing receipts, personalising School Pack PDFs, recording and administering named-school licences, creating and managing accounts and student logins, administering access grants and limits, personalising learning flows, supporting login and review features, responding to support requests, conducting invited customer research about product demand and quality, preventing and investigating misuse or fraud, maintaining legal and accounting records, improving product quality, complying with legal obligations, and communicating service-related updates.
Skill Align does not sell personal information to third parties.
Website analytics and diagnostics
Skill Align may use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand public-site usage, reliability, and product quality. Microsoft Clarity is configured for anonymous production public-page analytics and is not intentionally used for signed-in parent, student, teacher, or admin pages.
Technical logs and diagnostics may still be collected when needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the platform.
Billing and payment processing
Online Practice subscription billing and one-off Exam Pack payment handling may be performed through Stripe or other payment service providers. Skill Align does not store full payment card details in its application systems when payment providers can process those details directly. Payment providers handle information under their own policies and compliance controls.
Authentication and platform infrastructure
Skill Align may use Microsoft Entra External ID and related Microsoft cloud services for authentication, hosting, storage, logs, and service operations. Data may be stored or processed in Australia or other regions where these providers operate.
We may also use other infrastructure providers, analytics tools, and email or messaging services to operate the platform and deliver purchased Exam Packs. Provider locations and service arrangements may change; contact Skill Align using the privacy contact below if you need current information about likely overseas processing or disclosure locations.
When we may disclose information
We may disclose information to service providers, payment processors, hosting providers, identity providers, email-delivery providers, contractors assisting with support or operations, professional advisers, regulators, or law enforcement where reasonably necessary to operate the platform, fulfil an order, enforce our terms, protect users, or comply with legal requirements.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, meet legal and accounting obligations, support security investigations, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of record, including whether it relates to an account, subscription, Exam Pack order, payment, fulfilment, or support request.
When a parent deletes a student login, the associated practice sessions, attempts, answers, and feedback may be deleted from active product records. Some records may be retained where reasonably required for legal, security, billing, audit, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Security
Skill Align uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no internet-based service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Access, correction, and privacy requests
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.
To make a request, use available account features, the public support page, or email skillalign_support@jdalign.au. The public support and email options are available without an account or purchase. We may need to verify identity before processing requests.
Privacy complaints
Privacy complaints may be sent to skillalign_support@jdalign.au with enough information to identify the issue and the outcome requested. Do not include passwords or full payment-card details. Skill Align will acknowledge and investigate the complaint, may request further information, and will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. The latest published version on the Skill Align website will apply from the date it is posted, unless a different effective date is stated.
