Learn as you go through Year 12
2027 Practice Packs are designed to support your learning from the start of your Year 12 course. Follow the topics you’re learning at school, work through the examples and practise at your own pace. You don’t need to finish the whole course before you start. Use the solutions and review guidance to understand mistakes, then return to mixed revision and course checks as you cover more topics.
Eighteen topic workshops, different initial/follow-up checks and mixed revision, separate solutions, criteria and targeted feedback.
2027 edition · Year 12
Syllabus alignment: NSW Physics Stage 6 Syllabus (2017), Year 12 Modules 5–8 — 2027 HSC
Topic practice across 18 chapter groups in Year 12 Modules 5–8 and Working Scientifically.
Syllabus baseline checked .Coverage and texts
Coverage: The 2017 syllabus governs the 2027 HSC; the replacement course has its first HSC in 2028. Advanced Mechanics; Electromagnetism; The Nature of Light; From the Universe to the Atom, with scientific inquiry and evidence evaluation.
Texts used: Use the current NESA Physics reference and approved scientific calculator; necessary task-specific quantities and models are supplied.
Format: Untimed learning: eighteen topic chapters, different initial/follow-up checks and mixed revision, with separate solutions, criteria and feedback.
Pack 0 has eighteen independently answerable questions, one for every paid topic chapter, and eighteen additional worked examples. The 2017 course governs the 2027 HSC; the replacement course has its first HSC in 2028. This sample previews breadth without establishing full syllabus mastery.
Materials and format: Untimed Physics practice uses supplied quantities and stated assumptions, a NESA-approved scientific calculator and the applicable Physics data/formula/Periodic Table reference. Graphing, programmable and CAS calculators are not permitted. Recheck 2027 materials notices. The written HSC currently has three hours plus five minutes reading; these learning packs are not paper replicas. Actual practical and depth-study requirements remain separate and require approved supervision.

How to use this resource
- Start with a topic you are learning at school. You do not need to finish the whole course first.
- Review the topic prerequisites and worked example. Attempt its practice questions, then the final self-check independently.
- Use the separate solutions and marking guidance to check your reasoning and record a next step on your review sheet.
- If you want a starting check, try Check 1 on topics you have already studied before viewing its solutions. Record untaught material as “Not yet studied”.
- Return to mixed revision and Check 2 as you cover more topics and complete directed practice. Compare your independent work on the selected topics.
This is self-marked topic practice for Year 12 HSC Physics. Use it alongside your school materials. Practice marks are a review aid and do not predict an assessment grade or ATAR.
