Subscriptions and Billing
A new monthly Online Practice subscription can be paid before parent sign-in, then securely added to the parent account that will manage billing, student access, and future plan changes.
Buy Online Practice before parent sign-in
- Choose the required items from Practice Plans, review the billing details, and continue to secure Stripe payment.
- No parent sign-in is required before payment for a new subscription. The payment result remains available without signing in.
- The billing email receives the payment confirmation, invoice link, and secure setup actions.
- The billing email does not automatically create or choose a parent account. It may be different from the email used for the Skill Align parent account.
- If an existing parent account already manages the plan you want to change, sign in before checkout and update that current plan instead of creating an unrelated subscription.
Add the paid subscription to the intended parent account
- Use Add subscription to this Skill Align account on the payment-success page when the intended parent is already signed in.
- If no parent is signed in, use Create or sign in to your Skill Align parent account on the success page or in the confirmation email.
- You can create the parent account with any email address you can access; a Microsoft account is not required.
- Signing in to the dashboard by itself cannot add a guest purchase. The protected account-setup action must complete the link.
- A paid subscription can be linked to only one parent account. An account that already manages another current subscription may show a conflict instead of replacing it.
- If the success-page action is no longer available, use the separate secure link in the confirmation email. If that link is unavailable, expired, or linked to the wrong account, contact Support.
- Do not forward or share secure account-setup links.
How subscriptions work
- Parents choose one or more subject items by year level.
- Senior Mathematics pathways and English courses are separate selectable items, so families can subscribe only to what the student studies.
- TASC Level 2 and Level 3 versions of the same English course are deliberately grouped together as one practice item.
- Selected items are billed together as one monthly subscription.
- Open Practice Plans to view all subjects. Current subscribed subjects show as selected, and the update action remains disabled until the selection changes.
- Current subject access follows the active subscription rather than an old snapshot.
- Subscription student logins are separate from teacher-access student logins.
Manage billing and subscription changes
- After the paid subscription is linked, signed-in parents review recurring charges, invoices, and payment details from the Billing page.
- Use Practice Plans to add or remove monthly subjects, senior Mathematics pathways, or English courses while reviewing the full catalogue.
- Use the Subscription page for renewal details, subscription history, cancellation, and a shortcut to manage subject access.
- If cancellation is scheduled, current subscribed access remains available until the paid period ends, but subject changes are read-only.
- Invoice history and billing details remain part of the parent experience.
Common billing questions
- If payment fails, review the billing page and payment method details first.
- If Stripe confirmed payment but the subscription is missing from the dashboard, confirm that the secure account-setup action completed for the intended parent account. Signing in alone is not enough.
- If expected year, subject, senior Mathematics pathway, or English course access is missing, check the exact current subscription items.
- Buying an Exam Pack does not add a monthly subject or become part of the Online Practice subscription. Exam Pack files are fulfilled separately to the checkout email.
- After paid access expires, subscription-created student logins are revoked. Teacher-access student logins remain separate and follow their approved grants.
